Poomiphat Navanukroh, Cape & Kantary Hotels Group Director, Travel Industry, has announced the appointment of Urs Aebi as General Manager of Cape Fahn Hotel, Koh Samui.

This dedicated hotelier trained at l’École Hotelière de Lausanne (EHL), Switzerland and has spent the last 30 years developing and honing his skills to their current degree of excellence.  Apart from a short time spent working on a cruise liner, Urs has given his time to Thailand where he has worked for a number of different hotel chains.  He fell in love with the country when he first arrived many years ago, then with the food. Included in his past experience is over four years at Cape Panwa Hotel, Phuket, where he remembers strongly his desire to make all guests feel relaxed and comfortable.

Cape and Kantary is delighted to see him back with the company in his new role at Cape Fahn Hotel, Koh Samui.  Urs commented that what brought him back to us is ‘the respect the owners have always shown towards their employees and team members whether they are Thai or expatriates’.  In his role as manager he fully appreciates the openness of discussions and straightforward reporting lines without too many administrative hurdles.  He mentioned that in the meantime he developed his skills in accounting, cash-flow management and feels confident that he is a much better leader.  Being fluent in German, French and English and with a fair competence in Thai, we are sure that he will gain the confidence of the wide range of the hotel’s guests.

He did not have to think twice when he received the offer of taking up this post. Urs said, “It is really comforting for me to be back with a company that I respect so much and in a property of such high quality and exacting ideals.  I can now put all my effort into maintaining the very high standards that this hotel has already reached and show the company that their faith in me is not misplaced.  I intend to make of Cape Fahn Hotel one of the top pool villa resorts on Koh Samui.  Its potential with the setting on its own private island is almost endless, making it a very unique product.  I will work hard with the local team and local suppliers to offer unrivalled service and facilities.”

Mr.Poomiphat Navanukroh, Travel Industry Group Director for Cape & Kantary Hotels, said, “We are delighted to welcome back with open arms such a dedicated and hard-working colleague.  We have every faith that he will be able to lead the team at Cape Fahn Hotel to new heights of excellence and perfection.  This is a real stroke of luck for us all.”
